They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Community is a very important part of being in the family of God. And there are a lot of ways that it can look. But what all godly community has in common is that Jesus is at it’s center, and people are being loved and cared for. At South Sound Foursquare we have a lot of opportunities to get involved in our church community. There are Home groups and small groups at various times and locations throughout the week, we have opportunities to help people in our church family by providing meals and visiting people who are sick or in need, and every first Sunday of the month we have Family First after service to sit and eat with each other. There are many ways to get jump in to the community, so come get connected!
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
